Sri Sri, born as Srirangam Srinivasarao in 1910 in Andhra Pradesh, India, was a revolutionary poet who brought a new wave of modernism in Telugu literature. He is one of the most celebrated poets in the Indian literary world and is widely regarded as the father of modern Telugu poetry.

Sri Sri's poetry is known for its simplicity, clarity, and powerful message. He was deeply influenced by the socio-political climate of his time, and his works reflect his commitment to social change and political activism. His poems are filled with social consciousness, humanism, and a quest for freedom.

Sri Sri's literary journey began in the 1930s when he joined the Indian Independence movement and became associated with the leftist ideology. He started writing poetry in Telugu, the language spoken in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which was then dominated by traditional and archaic styles of poetry. Sri Sri's poetry, however, broke away from the traditional styles and employed free verse and colloquial language, making it more accessible to the common people.
