Senior citizen in lockdown

Time has flown so fast

I didn't realise only few more years my life will last;

I am now senior citizen

I can only do this much and none;

I have no more work to do

But I have a life to attend to;

Covid has made it worse

People keep a safe and social distance;

I cannot go out for walk or touch

I can only do this much;

Children are busy with their own life style

Fortunate they come home once in a while;

Have to keep in shape my body and mind

Lest I will be forced to lie in bed;

Sleep I must

Or soon I fall in dust;

I try to see joy in humour

For that is my only armour
